Department of Zoology 

In the Department of Zoology of Marmara University, Biology Department, there is; one Associate Professor, one PhD. Dr. and one researcher in staff. The Dr. and the researc assistants actively pursue research in a diverse set of areas such as; entomology, aquatic ecosystems, cloning, recombinant production, purification and biochemical analyses of druggabble/drug-targetable proteins with industrial significance, computational structural biology (protein modelling, protein-drug and protein-protein interactions, peptide-membrane interactions and the molecular biology of proteins).

Lectures provided by the department include;  Animal Morphology and Systematics I (Invertebrates), Animal Anatomy, Animal Morphology and Systematics II (Vertebrates), Histology, Animal Embryology, Animal Physiology, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Animal Geography, Toxicology, Entemology, Drug Discovery and Design, Bioinformatics, Parasitology Bachelor’s courses and MSc/PhD courses such as; Embryological Research Methods, Histological Methods, Molecular Toxicology, Structural Biology of Proteins and Structural Bioinformatics.
